ABOUT US

 

Synergy Sports Club is a new and exciting sports club serving
the South Simcoe and York Region areas. Our goal is to provide
our members with a well organized recreational sports league
where players can come to stay active, hang out with friends, and
HAVE FUN!

Throughout the year we offer a selection of different sports with
participants from varying skill and fitness levels. SSC has a fun first,
win second philosophy because we want all of our players to have
a good time. We at SSC believe that sportsmanship is an essential
part of the game and therefore we have added a sportsmanship rating
to our scoring system to ensure that sportsmanship is upheld.

Our sports leagues are run quarterly including seasons in the
Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer.


SSC also runs different tournaments throughout the year so keep
checking back with us to see when the latest tournaments begin.

Where are the games played?
Synergy Sports Club currently offers leagues and tournaments in
the Barrie, Bradford, and Newmarket areas, and we hope to expand
this area as we grow. The venues themselves will be mostly school
facilities (schools and gyms) but may also include private facilities, community centers, and public fields.

 

When are the games played?
Games are played once a week on a given night. So if you sign up
for Dodgeball on Thursdays, you will always have a game on
Thursday. League games are always scheduled in the evenings.
For tournament play please check the specified times and dates for
the given tournament.

What is the skill level in SSC leagues?
Skill level may differ greatly from player to player and from team
to team. Synergy promotes a fun first win second attitude in all of
our leagues and generally they are recreational. If enough teams
sign up for any particular league then the league can be split into
two with more competitive teams in one league while recreational
teams are in another league.

Are there prizes for winning teams?
Yes!  There are prizes for the winning team of each league and
each tournament. Each team member will get a championship
t-shirt provided by Addictive Design & Promotion. There will also
be a team prize which will vary from season to season and from
league to league. Prizes may include free food at a sponsor
restaurant, sports equipment etc.

What the heck are GAS points?
Gamesmanship and Sportsmanship points or GAS points are
points that are earned each game by a team for their sportsmanship throughout the game. These points allow teams to gain points for
being good sports while they also discourage unsportsmanlike play.
One rating is given by the opposing team and another is given by the

Does my roster have to be completed before I register my team?
No. You can add players to your roster anytime as long as you are
within the roster limits and every player has signed a waiver form
before the start of the first game. However if you choose to register
without a full roster you will need to email SSC with the additional
players names before the first league game. To learn more about

Do I need to be a member to participate?
Not at all. Anyone can play in SSC leagues.

Is there an annual fee?
No there is no annual fee you “pay as you play”, meaning you
only pay for the leagues in which you enroll.
